School Fees 2025/26

Castleisland Community College School Fees Schedule 2025/26

Rationale for School Fees :

The Department of Education provides funding to all recognised schools in the Free Education Scheme by way of per capita grants. The capitation grant provides for day-to-day running costs including heating, lighting, classroom resources, overheads etc.

Excellence in Learning is one of the five Core Values of Kerry Education and Training Board. While capitation and grants enable schools to operate, there is a deficit in terms of what income a school receives and the cost incurred in providing a quality educational experience for our students. This together with recent cost of living increases has put huge pressure on school budgets.

The Kerry school fee goes directly towards providing essential services to enhance the students educational experience in the school e.g.

  • Buses (Contribution to buses. Further contributions will need to be sought as the year progresses and depending on the amount of trips the pupils will make. The cost of bus hire has escalated in the past few years.)
  • Lockers, IT Licences, testing, academic tracking, guest speakers.
  • Communications (including printing, photocopying, texting, VS Ware, phone & stamps)

The fee to parents/guardians will be €100 for the first child in the school with a concession of €80 for a second or subsequent siblings.

Transition Year Fee

The fee for Transition is for the core TY programme and does not account for optional once off events such as school tours. Transition Year students will only have to pay the Transition Year Fee.

The fee to parents/guardians for TY 2025/2026 will be €400

School fees can be paid using the Way To Pay App.

If the payment of the above School Fee will result in financial hardship we are happy to discuss this - please contact the School Office to arrange an appointment to discuss.
